In support and to further meet the needs of our students, Kalyana Yoga Shala is now offering wellness services. Our range of services include Foot Reflexology, Nutritional Counselling, Reiki and Yoga Therapy. Please see below for more information on each of our new wellness offerings. Nutritional Counselling

Food is Medicine. With the right tools and guidance, we can heal our bodies through eating right and living right. Eating a diet of whole natural foods and moving the body in ways that are right for you is the recipe to ultimate vitality and wellbeing.

As we are all individuals, we all have unique dietary needs. Our Holistic Nutritionist assists clients to make informed choices that support their unique needs. Regardless of where you are in life,  support, guidance and encouragement are available to assist you in making the changes you need for optimum health.

Counselling sessions are available on Thursdays between 6:30pm and 9:30pm and Fridays between 8:00am and 11:00am. Initial sessions are 75 minutes in length. Subsequent sessions are 60 minutes.

Your Practitioner: Patricia Jean-Vézina, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Personal Trainer and Registered Holistic Nutritionist, believes that food is medicine. 

Reiki

The gentle “laying on of hands” or more commonly, “healing touch”, has its roots in Tibetan Buddhism.  It’s based on the belief that all living things have a natural energy flow.

Since our energy is our source of health, it must be balanced and replenished as it is depleted.  When our energy is flowing freely and is connected to universal energy, we are healthy.  When this flow or connection is blocked, we begin to manifest signs of disease.  This form of touch therapy has shown itself to be able to rally the body’s own healing abilities, enhancing a process that naturally occurs.  Receiving a Reiki treatment is as easy as relaxing.

Reiki sessions are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 1:30pm and 4:00pm, with Anne Domitrovits, owner of Kalyana Yoga Shala and Wellness Centre.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is the facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual. Yoga therapy focuses on the path of Yoga as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of Yoga: awakening of Spirit, our essential nature. Yoga Therapy focuses on experimenting with pranayama, positive affirmation, asana and many different forms of meditation. If you are looking to go deeper within, develop a deeper connection to your breath and body, begin to heal your physical and emotional body this style is for you.
